Ah, county fairs! Ours begin in the fall, culminating in October in our Arkansas State Fair. I much prefer the smaller county fairs and we used to try to take our son to those when he was little. Yes, he liked the rides, but he also learned to admire the handiwork and cooking which were so proudly displayed! Great American tradition!
